How to See Faster Results in Getting in Shape

These days, everyone wants things done fast. Instantaneous results are expected in our everyday lives, and this can make slower-paced things like weight loss unbearable. Unfortunately, losing extra body fat isn’t a process that can be rushed. However, you can make things go more smoothly to save yourself unneeded frustration.

1. Exercise More

Light activity like bicycling, walking and swimming are better than nothing, but they’re not intense enough to produce optimal results. Most experts recommend at least an hour and 15 minutes of high-intensity exercise each week, such as weightlifting or jogging. Consider buying some fitness equipment if you think it would make you more likely to exercise.

2. Increase the Intensity
You have to keep increasing how hard you exercise. If you don’t, your metabolic rate will hit a plateau and you will stop losing weight. You can try alternating between machines and free weights, but whichever you do, it’s important to continually add more weight. When you feel like you can’t do any more, make yourself do one more repetition. For cardio workouts on exercise bikes, push yourself to work out just a bit longer or faster. Remember that even the best cardio equipment is useless if you don’t increase the effort.

3. Control Your Calories

This is the most basic rule of weight loss. You must consume fewer calories than you burn. If you eat more than that, you will not only not lose weight but you will likely gain some. Count the number of calories in everything you eat and drink and keep it in a journal. This will help you get a better idea of where you need to make improvements in your eating habits. Furthermore, it will provide you with a more realistic picture of just how many calories are actually in the foods you eat.

4. Don’t Cheat
Sneaking fattening snacks and skimping on your workouts can ruin everything you’re working for, even if you think it won’t make a difference. Like with most things, weight loss requires consistency and staunch determination. A good way to keep the temptation at bay is to get a fitness buddy. You can encourage one another and stop each other from making bad choices.
